The MAYOMOLD immobilization system was patterned after that developed by Dr. Charles Mayo and his team at UMASS Memorial Medical Center. The system is designed to allow Stereotactic like precision in the head and neck region. The improved accuracy allows attainable shrinking of plan position margins to better spare normal tissues, like the brain stem, optic nerves and optic chiasm. The MAYOMOLD system uses CDR Thermosheet technology combined with our IFF03 foam system, producing consistent results for patients requiring absolute positioning in the head and neck region.
